How to connect Zerodha to Claude or ChatGPT
Claude and ChatGPT can't reach your Zerodha account on their own. Quantplay connects them through Kite Connect, Zerodha's official API. You need a Zerodha account, a Kite Connect app, a Quantplay account, and a Claude or ChatGPT plan that allows custom connectors.
Step 1: Create a Kite Connect app

Open the Kite Connect developer console
Sign in at developers.kite.trade with your Zerodha account and click Create new app.

Set the redirect URL
Use https://connect.quantplay.tech/token/ followed by your Zerodha user ID, for example https://connect.quantplay.tech/token/AB1234.

Copy the API key and secret
The app's page shows its API key and API secret. Keep them for step 2.
Step 2: Add Zerodha to Quantplay

Create a Quantplay account
Sign up at quantplay.tech, then click Add account and choose Zerodha.

Enter your details
Give the account a nickname and enter your Zerodha user ID, API key and API secret.

Add your Quantplay IP in Kite
With PRO, Quantplay registers a static IP for your account. Add it as the allowed IP in your Kite Connect app, since Zerodha rejects API orders from other IPs.
Step 3: Add Quantplay to Claude

Open connectors
In Claude, go to Customize → Connectors → + Add → Add custom connector.

Paste the link
Name it Quantplay, paste https://mcp.quantplay.tech/mcp and click Continue.

Sign in and approve
Sign in to Quantplay and choose view-only or trading. View-only can read your account but can't place orders.

Try it
In a new chat, ask: "Show my Zerodha positions and today's P&L."

Create a custom MCP server
In ChatGPT, go to Plugins → Add → Create custom MCP server.

Paste the link
Paste https://mcp.quantplay.tech/mcp and choose OAuth.

Sign in and approve
Sign in to Quantplay and choose view-only or trading.

After you connect
- Zerodha sessions expire every day. Turn on auto-login in Quantplay (save your password and TOTP key) and it logs in before the market opens.
- Set an account-level stoploss and target in Quantplay (PRO). They auto-exit your intraday and F&O positions after a limit is crossed, including trades your AI placed.
- Your kill switch can only be changed outside market hours, and no AI app has a tool for it.
